The movie finished 15 minutes after the cleaning lady had done with the cleaning. After that, we prepared to leave for Mitsuwa, located at the corner of Venice Blvd. & Centinela Ave., Mitsuwa Marketplace, Santa Monica store provides one-stop shopping of Japanese groceries and products. The specialty shops inside this unique store offers Books, Cafe, Household Items, Video Rental, and more. The Restaurant Row is the place to enjoy lunch or dinner with many authentic choices; Ramen, Udon, Donburi dishes, and more. The recent addition to the store is "Books & Cafe", providing a serene and comfortable space with Japanese books and robust brew of premium blue mountain coffee. I checked out the route and how to get there. We left home at about 4pm.
We took bus 7 to Bundy Drive then switch to bus 14 to Washington Boulevard. The place was like any other ordinary American supermarket. The building itself was small. Smaller than Ralph's by a third. However, the moment I stepped in, I could feel the authentic Japanese "aura" overwhelm me. Everyone was speaking Japanese. Even I was doing quite well in my Japanese module, I couldn't really catch what they are saying, yea, I know I cant compare to real Japanese but it was amazing, just amazing. We went in video store followed by the books store then have our lunch/dinner at the food area. Noodles for myself and rice for the rest. The noodles was delicious but I added 2 small cup of chili powder to make it spicy and add to the flavor (shown in photo). Then we checked out the store next to the food area, the cashier was quite good-looking. We bought some stuff at the supermarket, a few steps away from the stores.
